India-Italy Technology Summit for Italian industries and Indian entrepreneurs.

Economic and commercial relations between Italy and India continue to strengthen thanks to the India-Italy Technology Summit. The event will take place on 29 and 30 October in New Delhi and will not be limited to the mere industrial sphere. In fact, it was confirmed the participation to the summit of the President of Council Giuseppe Conte with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, thus giving greater political meaning importance to the initiative.

Cementing 70 years of diplomatic relations, this year edition of the summit offers a high profile bilateral platform to provide opportunities to industry, institutes and government agencies from India and Italy to interact with each other. The event touches the most varied areas: ICT (AI, cybersecurity, data science, telecom & broadband, e-commerce, IC manufacturing), aerospace (satellites, spacecraft and related services aeronautics industry), cleantech and renewables: waste and water management, clean and renewable energy), healthcare and innovations related to it, cultural heritage (technologies of conservation and restoration, tourism museums and art galleries) and education (mobility and migrations, collaboration in research and connection between university and industry).

Italy’s trade relations with India declined between 2012 and 2016, but in that year and the subsequent one, there was a new increase in trade, which in 2017 amounted to 8.7 billion dollars (+10.3%). This figure makes Italy the fifth largest commercial partner in India among all European countries. The event, organized together with the Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), represents an important opportunity to deepen the opportunities for industrial and scientific cooperation for Italian companies with a strong propensity to collaboration and engaged in sectors with high added value.
